Salt Gritting and Snow Ploughing

Steve’s Industries provides a salt gritting and snow ploughing service aimed at all businesses with private roadways and car parks. Our clients range from Doctor Surgeries to large business parks, shopping centres, hotels, cinemas and convention centres.

How It Works

-         We offer a fixed price salt gritting and snow ploughing service.

-         There are no standby charges.

-         We use clean white rock salt.

We receive a daily fax from the Met Office, stating forecast road surface temperatures and weather conditions for the next 24 hours. The same information that the local authorities receive.

1. If the forecast shows that road surface temperature will drop below freezing, and that ice is expected, then we will go out and grit.
2. If heavy snow falls then we will snow plough prior to gritting.
3. All of this work is carried out during the night, dependant on weather conditions.
4. If we have extreme weather conditions, then we will advise when a pre-salt is required.

Salt/Grit is spread onto car parks and road ways using a salt gritting lorry. Salt/Grit is spread onto pathways, using a pedestrian spreader.

Snow ploughs are mounted on to our gritter Lorries, when snow is expected. We also have tractor mounted snow ploughs to efficiently clear large areas. Snow will be hand shovelled from pathways.

We also sell salt (by the bag or loose) and gritting machinery.
